Animas RIVERKEEPER receives a Southern Ute Gaming Grant!

The Southern Ute has awarded Animas Riverkeeper with a grant to plant trees along the banks of the Animas in order to slow erosion.  The RIVERKEEPER will be planting trees one weekend in October.  We will keep you posted.

ANIMAS RIVERKEEPER

FOAR is proud to be able to announce that the proposal to establish a RIVERKEEPER on the Animas was accepted by the WATERKEEPER ALLIANCE in September of 2005.  This acheivement will result in the establishment of a full time advocate for the river, providing a face and voice for the Animas.

Friends of the Animas River (FOAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) located in Durango, Colorado. FOAR was started in 1993 by a group of citizens in an effort to protect the Animas River and other riverine systems located in the Southwest.

FOAR is committed to ensuring that the Animas River and its watershed remains a healthy ecological system.  FOAR has become an integral part in the ongoing protection of this valuable, natural resource.
